The Gillham Road GobbleTrot is back at 9:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 28, 2024!

Grab your family and friends and head out to Hyde Park in Kansas City, Missouri for our feel-good, family-friendly, holiday-fun 5K run/walk enjoyed by thousands for more than a decade, and ALL PROCEEDS always benefit the Pilgrim Center and our FREE community programming!

This year our celebrity Emcee is none other than the original Holiday Humbug, Ol' Ebeneezer Scrooge, straight from the Unicorn Theatre's production of Ebeneezer Scrooge's Big KC MO Christmas show, running November 26 through December 22. This 5K starts and finishes at the Pilgrim Chapel, 3801 Gillham Road, Kansas City, Missouri, and winds through beautiful, historic Hyde Park.

To pick up your chipped, custom bib and 2024 T-shirt, please visit one of our Packet Pick Ups. We know it has been busy and crowded in years past, so we have added an additional opportunity this year to help make your visit fast and easy! You have THREE chances to pick up your packets. General Race Information

The race begins at 9:00 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. The start and finish (both southbound) are just north of the Pilgrim Chapel, 3801 Gillham Road.

• The course takes runners and walkers along Gillham Road, through the Hyde Park neighborhood, and past Hyde Park the park.

• All in-person 5K participants (runners & walkers) are chip timed.

• The course has been certified by the USATF.

Your T-shirt and custom chipped bib will be available at Packet Pick-up. There are THREE choices this year. Click here for more information.

Age Groups: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-84, 85+.

First, second, and third place are awarded in each division, and Male and Female Masters each are awarded a custom-engraved stainless steel Yeti travel cup.

The Children's Dash for kids 8 & under is held at the conclusion of the 5K run and walk. Divisions are: 4 & Under, 5-6, and 7-8. The younger two divisions run 100 yards and the older division runs 200 yards.

Can I give to the Pilgrim Center to help support this event?

Yes! Please do. We need your support to offer all of the community programming we do at the Pilgrim Center, including the GobbleTrot. Click here to give now.

I registered but can’t participate. Can I transfer my registration to next year or give it to a friend?

No. We’re sorry, registrations must be used this year by the person who registered.

I have friends who would like to help. How can they volunteer?
That’s great! Ask them to email us at pilgrim@pilgrimcenterinc.org. We'll put them to work!

What charitable organization will my participation benefit?
ALL PROCEEDS (not canned food collected, not a percentage of profits, but ALL PROCEEDS) of the Gillham Road GobbleTrot benefit the community programs of the Pilgrim Center. Each year the Center presents free programming for every season.

When is Packet Pick Up?

We have added a Packet Pick Up session! Now you can drive through Tuesday or Wednesday before Thanksgiving, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Notre Dame de Sion Grade School, 3823 Locust Street, just behind the Pilgrim Chapel. Click here for more info. If you cannot pick up your packet, we can mail it to you for an additional $8.00 fee. Email pilgrim@pilgrimcenterinc.org for more information about having your packet mailed to you.

Is the 2024 Gillham Road GobbleTrot an in-person event?

Yes, this year we are glad to be celebrating together on Thanksgiving! Of course we also are offering a virtual option if that is your preference. Simply select the Virtual 5K when you register online.

Can I bring my dog to the Gillham Road GobbleTrot in-person event on Thanksgiving Day?
Sorry, no. We love our fur babies, too, but dogs can be problematic when lining up for the race.

Can I push my child in a stroller at the in-person Gillham Road Gobbletrot?
Sure! We just ask that you line up near the back of the group, with the walkers.
